During the age of exploration when the “New World” was discovered and was transformed from a myth to a reality by explorers using the tools of navigation including; the compass, the sextant, the clock, latitude, longtitude and accurate maps, the “Old World” was given “A New Beginning”. As was the case in the age of exploration, tools of navigation and maps were not enough for successful voyages to the New World. A Captain and Crew experienced and seasoned not just in terms of the usage of the tools of navigation, but also capable of handling the unpredictable waters of the Atlantic, was essential. Such is the case in the new world of ECM Solutions, where the technologies inherent within ECM software are not sufficient to mine the rich ores within the veins of digital assets. An experienced consulting team consisting of a Project Manager, a Solution Architect and Developers skilled in using ECM technologies is necessary to achieve a successful implementation. But like the sailors of old, a map (read plan) and knowledge of rough waters (read business circumstances) is also necessary.
