Kal Tire has over 300 retail stores across Canada servicing both consumer and commercial vehicles. Kal Tire also has large warehouses for storing the inventories as well as re-tread facilities. In addition to retail sector, Kal Tire services the industrial mining sector both in Canada and South America.

We assisted in the strategy and design of an enterprise content management and imaging system for managing the electronic and paper documents in the organization.

Business Challenges:

After the store managers approve the invoices, they don’t have the insight into the status of the invoices. The process of looking up any invoice or document involves calling up the centralized corporate office. A usual lookup of an invoice takes at least 3-4 hours of time for an AP clerk to locate and fax the documents. The cost of finding, delivering and managing paper documents is cost and time intensive. The store managers make a copy of every document they send to the centralized location causing duplication of documents.

Our role:

We assisted in conducting the business requirements with different departments within Kal Tire. We then evaluated different document management systems and developed the ROI while working with various vendors and the client. We also developed a project statement for the steering committee used for budget approval.
